As the 3rd Place winners in Stars of Science Season 2, we have the honor to be mentioned in this International New York Times article.

The company launched by Hind Hobeika, from Lebanon, was named one of 10 most interesting start-ups in the Middle East by Forbes Magazine, thanks to Instabeat, a device that fits on all swimming goggles and allows swimmers to monitor their heart rate.

The finished product, lighter, smaller, and more sophisticated than the early version that had earned her a third place on Season 2 of “Stars of Science”, will be launched in December.

“First we’ll fulfill the pre-orders,” she says, “then we’ll expand to the global market by partnering with distributors and sports brands. “Stars of Science” taught me how to go from idea to product while maximizing the resources around me.” Hobeika turned to crowdfunding on Indiegogo to finance her device.
